If you watch golf on television, you can’t help but notice that more and more professionals are wearing sunglasses. Many college teams make the wearing of sunglasses mandatory.
So whether you are a serious golfer or play once a year in your company tournament, there are three reasons why you should wear quality polarized sunglasses.

Eye Protection
An average round of golf takes over 4 hours to complete. Even on a cloudy day, that’s 4 hours of exposing your eyes to harmful UV light. That’s a problem even for the casual golfer. In order to give your eyes maximum protection, your sunglasses must be polarized and you should choose frames that have large lenses that sit close to your face.

Eye Comfort
Most golf courses have some amount of water. In fact, on many modern layouts, there is water everywhere! Even on cloudy days that can mean a lot of glare and eye strain. If you find that you get headaches while playing, this is likely the cause. Even a lot of fatigue is due to eye strain. Again, the only way to eliminate glare and eye strain is by wearing quality polarized sunglasses.

Better Performance
Focus on the target! That’s the mantra of all golf teachers. But try doing that when you are looking right into the sun early in the morning or late in the afternoon or when the green is on the other side of a lake that looks like a sheet of molten glass! Good sunglasses can make the target pop out and make it easier to focus. Is the flag above that ridge or below it? Exactly how far does that water hazard extend? If you’re wearing good sunglasses, you’ll know and that breeds confidence.
Most people find putting hard enough without contending with glare. Eliminate the glare and putting is easier. In fact, most professionals say that they “see” the line much easier when they wear polarized sunglasses and it’s also much easier to read the grain.
Every golfer is looking for something that will help them hit it farther and straighter. Why not wear sunglasses that let you see where your ball ends up?

Why Choose Ocean Waves
You don’t see a lot of professionals wearing Ocean Waves Sunglasses on TV. Why? It’s simple. Most players want a minimum of $50 K to endorse a product. We’d rather keep our glasses affordable and put the money into research. And while there are several high quality polarized sunglasses available, ours are distortion free. That’s important because some polarized sunglasses can alter depth perception and for a golfer, that’s bad! Also, we offer many styles to choose from as well as both glass and polycarbonate lenses. But perhaps the best reason to wear our glasses is the Luminator lens. Golfers have found that this is the perfect lens for all light conditions- from early morning to late in the evening because it blocks glare and UV light without making everything dark. You really have to experience it for yourself.

Testimonials

“Whether I’m teaching or playing, I wear my Ocean Waves. I’m convinced that I’m a better player because of the Luminator lens and I notice more and more of my low-handicap members wearing them. I tend to play in the evening and they are really great!”
- Ward Stouffer, Director of Golf Operations, Vancouver Island.

“This Luminator lens is fantastic! I’m putting better that ever before and have no more headaches. My handicap went from 7 to 5 and the only thing I changed was my sunglasses!”
- Peter Turner, 5 handicap, British Columbia, Canada

“I live in the Bahamas and play on a course with LOTS of water. It’s only when I take off my Ocean Waves that I realize how much the glare used to bother me. The best part is I wear the same glasses for driving, golf and fishing!”
-Jarrod Pakosh, 4 handicap, Freeport
